2. Nature of This Platform

Project Synapse is:

A private, non-commercial research tool. It is not a consumer product, SaaS offering, or public service.
Invite-only. Access is granted solely at the discretion of EdgeXene LLC.
Experimental. Features, pipelines, models, and integrations may change at any time without notice.
Operated for research and development purposes, including testing AI inference pipelines, RAG architectures, and agentic research workflows.

No warranties of availability, accuracy, continuity, or fitness for any purpose are made. The platform may be modified, restricted, or shut down at any time.

3. Data We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide

Queries, prompts, and messages submitted to any Project Synapse mode.
Documents uploaded to the Grand Library (PDF, DOCX, TXT, Excel -- up to 50MB per file).
Account credentials (username/password, if applicable).

3.2 Automatically Collected Data

IP address (used for rate limiting and security). Location data is only processed when you manually enter a location.
Session metadata: timestamps, mode selected, query type, and response latency.
Browser and device information (user agent string).

3.3 Inferred or Derived Data

Query complexity classifications (LOW / MEDIUM / HIGH) generated by GLM-5.1 dispatching.
Vector embeddings of your documents and queries are stored in the Qdrant vector database.

4. How We Use Your Data

Data collected through Project Synapse is used solely for:

Routing and processing your queries through the appropriate AI inference pipeline.
Generating AI responses, research papers, code, images, and other outputs you request.
Storing your conversation history for retrieval during your sessions (365-day retention).
Performing a vector search against your uploaded Grand Library documents.
Improving and debugging the Project Synapse platform infrastructure (logs reviewed by EdgeXene LLC only).

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling for commercial purposes, or sale to third parties.

5. Data Retention

Conversation history is retained for 365 days across all modes. Other session data may be retained for shorter periods as needed for operational purposes. Uploaded documents remain in the Grand Library until you delete them or your access is revoked.

You may delete your own data within the platform or request its deletion at any time by contacting contact@edgexene.io.

6. Third-Party Services & Data Processors

Project Synapse routes queries and data through the following third-party services. By using Project Synapse, you acknowledge that your inputs may be transmitted to these processors:

AI Inference: Together AI

Processes all LLM queries (GLM-5.1, Qwen, Llama, GPT-OSS, Cogito models) and image generation (Imagen 4.0, FLUX.1.1-pro). Together AI represents that Zero Data Retention (ZDR) is enabled and that query data is not retained for training. EdgeXene has not independently verified these representations.

Web Search: Parallel AI

Processes web search queries in Ask Anything, Agentic Research, and other modes. Parallel AI represents that it is SOC 2 Type I and Type II certified (as of April 2025), that it does not access or store private data, and that all data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest in US-based data centers. Organization-wide query visibility is disabled on the EdgeXene account. EdgeXene has not independently verified these representations. Search queries are transmitted to the Parallel AI Search API; no personally identifiable information beyond the search query content is sent.

Web Search (Fallback): Brave Search

Processes web search queries as a fallback when primary search (Parallel AI) returns insufficient results, primarily in Ask Anything and Agentic Research modes. Brave Search represents that it does not collect personal information or retain IP addresses. EdgeXene has not independently verified these representations. Search queries are transmitted to the Brave Search API.

Vector Database: Qdrant

Stores document embeddings for the Grand Library RAG system. Self-hosted instance -- data does not leave the Project Synapse infrastructure stack.

Data Sources: External Public APIs

CourtListener, Congress.gov, SEC EDGAR, UK Legislation, EUR-Lex, FRED, World Bank, Polygon.io, FMP, Alpha Vantage, NASA, arXiv, Wikipedia, NewsAPI, Weather.gov. Queries routed to these APIs are subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. No personally identifiable information is transmitted to these APIs beyond what is inherent in the search query.

7. International Data Transfers

EdgeXene LLC is a US-based entity. Third-party services (Together AI, Parallel AI, Brave Search) process data on servers that may be located in the United States or other jurisdictions. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, your data may be transferred to countries that do not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction.

EdgeXene LLC relies on the necessity of such transfers to perform the service you have requested. If you have concerns about international data transfers, please contact contact@edgexene.io before using the platform.

8. Platform Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

This section is important. Please read it carefully before using any Project Synapse mode for research, legal, financial, medical, or business decisions.

8.1 No Professional Advice

Project Synapse and all outputs generated by it -- including but not limited to outputs from the Legal Research, Consultant Console, Technical & Engineering, and Agentic Research modes -- are provided for informational and experimental purposes only.

Nothing on this platform constitutes:

Legal advice or the creation of an attorney-client relationship;
Financial, investment, or tax advice;
Medical or clinical advice;
Professional consulting services of any kind.

You should not act or refrain from acting based solely on information generated by Project Synapse without seeking qualified professional advice appropriate to your situation.

8.2 No Warranty

Project Synapse is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation any warranty of accuracy, completeness, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. AI-generated outputs may be incorrect, outdated, hallucinated, or incomplete.

8.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, EdgeXene LLC, its members, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of Project Synapse or reliance on any outputs generated by the platform.

9. Acceptable Use

As an authorized user of Project Synapse, you agree not to:

Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, circumvent, or exploit the platform's infrastructure, API keys, or authentication systems.
Submit content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
Upload files containing malicious code, malware, or harmful content.
Share your access credentials or permit unauthorized third parties to use your account.
Use outputs generated by Project Synapse to deceive, defraud, or harm others.

Violation of these terms may result in immediate revocation of access without notice.

10. Your Rights

Regardless of your jurisdiction, EdgeXene LLC will honor the following requests:

Access: You may request a summary of data held about you.
Deletion: You may delete your own conversation history and uploaded documents directly within the platform. You may also request deletion of your account data by contacting us.
Correction: You may update your own account settings directly within the platform. For other corrections to personal data, contact us.

For any requests that cannot be completed through the platform, contact contact@edgexene.io. We will respond within 30 days.

11. Security

Project Synapse implements the following security measures:

Input sanitization and output filtering on all query pipelines.
Rate limiting (120 requests/minute) with IP-based deduplication.
Threat detection on submitted inputs.
HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.

No system is completely secure. In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in risk to your rights or interests, EdgeXene LLC will notify affected users without undue delay.

12. Changes to This Notice

EdgeXene LLC may update this Privacy Notice and Disclaimer at any time. Updated versions will be posted at chat.edgexene.io/privacy. Continued use of the platform following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised notice.
